Museum "Filyki Eteriya"
Information
In 1994, during the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the founding of the city, a branch of the Greek Cultural Foundation was opened in the buildings on Krasnoi lane No. 16-20, which houses the Filiki Eteria museum. The buildings where the museum is located used to belong to the Greeks and it was here that Filiki Eteria was created, a revolutionary-patriotic organization that prepared Greeks to fight for independence.
The museum was created by the Greek Cultural Foundation in cooperation with the Odessa Museum of History and Local History. The exposition consists of three thematic sections, which reveal the activities of the Greek colony in Odessa, the history of Filiki Eteria and the role of its members during the Greek revolution. The museum also has an ethnographic hall, where real household items are presented, reproducing the interior of the 19th century.
