Odesa Historical and Local History Museum

The Odessa Museum of History and Local Lore is located in the center of Odessa on Havanna Street. The building where the museum is located was built in 1876 according to the project of architect F. Gonsiorovsky for Oleksandr Yakovych Novikov, a representative of the industrial and commercial elite. The architecture of the house corresponds to the stylization, with elements of the late Renaissance.
On May 6, 1956, the Odesa State Historical and Local History Museum was opened to visitors. The museum exposition includes documents, publications, objects of art, numismatic collections, weapons of the XVII-XIX centuries and other objects related to the history of the city and the region. The museum plans to expand its expositions to reveal various aspects of life in Odessa and the region.
