Chernivtsi Art Museum
Information
The Chernivtsi Art Museum was founded in 1988. Now he has a significant collection of works thanks to expeditions, transfers from the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and charitable gifts from artists and patrons. Since 1991, the museum has been located at 10 Central Square.
In 1996, a permanent exhibition was opened, which presents the fine and cult art of Bukovyna, as well as the ornamental art of the region from the 19th to the 20th centuries. In 2013, a section dedicated to the fine arts of the middle of the 20th to the beginning of the 21st century was additionally created.
The museum collection also presents the works of outstanding Ukrainian artists of the 20th century, and in total has more than 12 thousand exhibits.
