Marine Museum
Information
Fossils are the remains of objects from previous geological eras, discovered by people during excavations or exposed as a result of erosion. Quite often, only the hard parts of the animal's body — teeth and bones — are preserved this way. Soft tissues decompose. But even if nothing remains of the organism itself, sometimes you can find a recess in the stone that exactly corresponds to the shape of its body. Fossils provide important information about the era in which they were formed, for example, about the animals and plants of those times. They also allow us to approximate the time when they were preserved.
The museum exhibits a large number of fossils, in particular from the Paleozoic, Cenozoic and Mesozoic eras.
