We know Pavel Grigorievich first of all as a lyric poet, however he was also marvelous painter and musician. Besides, he had to work in the ruling apparatus: he was a chairman of Supreme Court USSR, and Ministry of education of former Republic. Working for the government, Pavlo Tychyna received this spacious apartment in the centre of Kiev. Now it is literal-memorial house-museum, dedicated to life and work of Pavlo Tychyna, decorated with dozens of unique masterpieces. Also in the apartment are preserved interiors and musical instruments as they were while poet was alive.
In Tychyna’s study there are paintings of Aleksey Shovkunenko, Mikhail Deregus, Elena Kultchitskoy, Vasilii Kasian, Vladimir Zabolotnyy. Among the exhibits – piano, which was well played by Tychyna, table, bed and other furniture. On the working table, in the study, stands office stationery, which has been ingeniously carved by Kosovo craftsmen. It was presented to Pavlo Grygorievich for 55th anniversary of teacher in Hutsulshyna. In the same room is kept exclusive bandura (musical instrument), which has been made for a special order in Chernigov musical factory, craftsman Kozatchenko. Bandura is decorated with a soviet star. On the walls of the corridor there are decorated plates.

Second room of the museum is decorated by red plates, which are 60 years old. Those were made by Kiev painter Nina Fedorova. There are dolls in the apartment of Pavlo Tychyna as well.

In the apartment there is also poet’s library, which includes more than 20 000 books. Here is situated second carved office stationery – on the working table, among book shelves. This one has commemorative inscription: “To the people’s commissioner of education from foster children of Drogobych region”.
