The Maidan Museum invites you to a tour of the "Places of the Revolution of Dignity" in November

November 21 marks the tenth anniversary of the beginning of the Revolution of Dignity. Then the first rallies for the country's European future turned into the largest protest in the modern history of Ukraine, and the revolutionary events changed us and the country forever.

We invite you to learn more about the course of events on the Maidan, the initiative of the protesters and the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Together with the guide of the Maidan Museum, Victoria Boyko, you will visit the key places of the Revolution of Dignity in the center of the capital and discover many interesting facts about the struggle of Ukrainians for freedom.

We offer two routes on weekdays and weekends

November 4 and 11 (Saturday) - excursion "Places of the Revolution of Dignity. Chronicle of events". Start at 11:00. Gathering on Mykhailivska Square (near the banner about the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred)

November 9 and 23 (Thursday) - excursion "Places of the Revolution of Dignity. Initiatives of the Maidan". Start at 17:00. Gathering near the KMDA building (Khreshchatyk Street, 36)

"Places of the Revolution of Dignity. Chronicle of events"

On the tour on November 4 and 11, you will visit the key places of the Revolution of Dignity, learn about how, after the first attempts to forcefully "cleanse" the Maidan, the protesters took refuge in St. Michael's Cathedral, you will follow their path to Independence Square and Khreshchatyk - the epicenter of the protest that lasted 94 days.

In the House of Trade Unions, where the Information Center of the Maidan Museum is now located, you will be able to see the original belongings of the Maidan residents. During the events, the headquarters of the national resistance, coordination and information centers operated here.

The route will end at the alley, where we will remember the stories of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred together and ring the Bell of Dignity as a sign of their memory.

The excursion starts at 11:00.

Locations of the route: Mykhailivska Square - Mykhailiv Cathedral - Independence Square - Trade Union Building - Khreshchatyk Street - Alley of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred - Bell of Dignity.

"Places of the Revolution of Dignity. Maidan initiatives"

On November 9 and 23, we will tell about the Maidan initiatives created and developed by the protesters - how the Maidan Medical Service came into being, what hundreds of Self-Defense Forces did, how the Maidan Library and the Open University functioned. You will be able to visit the places where the "Artistic Barbican" and the Maidan Post Office were active, and you will also learn how the "Icons of the Revolution" appeared on Mykhailo Hrushevsky Street.

As you walk along the route, you will hear stories about how the protesters set up life in a tent city, where they built barricades and how they defended themselves there.

In the House of Trade Unions, which housed the National Resistance Headquarters, Maidan Medical Service, coordination and information centers during the revolutionary events, you will be able to see the original items of the Maidan residents.

Tour starts at 5:00 p.m.

Locations of the route: Kyiv City State Administration – Khreshchatyk Street – Independence Square – House of Trade Unions – European Square – Mykhailo Hrushevskyi Street and “Revolutionary Icons” graffiti.
