On January 17 and 23, exhibitions dedicated to the events of the russian-Ukrainian war will be opened in Kyiv.
Photo exhibition “Days of Memory of the Heroes of the Ilovaisk Battle 2014” to open at the Museum of the Occupation of Kyiv
On January 17 at 4:00 p.m., the photo exhibition “Days of Memory of the Heroes of the Ilovaisk Battle 2014” will open.
The photo exhibition recalls one of the most tragic events in our fight against Russia and honors all those who were the first to defend our country in 2014. You will be able to see photos that have already become historical. They were taken by photographers who worked in the zone of the fiercest fighting near Ilovaisk in the Donetsk region in August 2014 at the combat location of the special forces battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine “Donbas”. We are grateful for the preservation of the photo anthology of those events to Maksym Dondyuk, Oleksandr Glyadelov, Markiyan Lyseyko and Maksym Levin, who managed to get out of the Ilovaisk cauldron alive. Maxim Levin died during a full-scale invasion of the occupied Kyiv region in the spring of 2022, recording the crimes of the Russians.
More than fifty photos are just part of a large photo collection that records the facts about the battle for Ilovaisk from August 10 to the “green corridor of death” on August 29, 2014.
“Ilovaisk is the preservation of the honor and dignity of the Ukrainian soldier and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in general. Their rank is courage, courage and valor. By entering the battle, they created a Nation! I believe that the Ilovaisk battle became reconnaissance, a battle in our modern war for independence,” said Natalia Kharchenko, mother of the deceased soldier Yevhen Kharchenko, head of the NGO “Indestructible Mothers of Ukraine”.
The exhibition will be open at the Museum of the Occupation of Kyiv (49/1 Denis Antipov St.) from January 17 to February 25.
Exhibition organizers: NGO “Military-Patriotic Association of Combatants “Sarmat”, NGO “Indestructible Mothers of Ukraine”, Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and the National Memorial Complex of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred – Museum of the Revolution of Dignity.
