Museum of the Institute of Information Registration Problems

The development of information technologies in the 80s of the last century presented society with the task of creating domestic large-capacity information storage devices for computers and information-computing systems. To improve the organization of work in this field, the Institute of Information Registration Problems of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR was created.

The Institute worked in the main areas of scientific and research activity, in particular, it studied the physical foundations of optical recording of information and developed optical drives for computers and information computing systems. Today, the IPRI of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine consists of five research and three scientific and technical departments, as well as the Uzhhorod Scientific and Technological Center for Optical Media Materials.
