Information
This botanical garden has a long history that began back in 1928. Since then, it has become an important educational and practical center for the study of dendrology, forest breeding and botany, and is of great importance for the entire country. Dissertation studies of both young and experienced scientists are conducted in the botanical garden.
This garden is home to many plants with medicinal properties, among which we can highlight the lady's tree, Far Eastern creeper, chestnut, magnolia, sequoia and many others. The university botanic garden also has the only instance of a tulip tree in Ukraine. The total number of plants that grow on the territory of the botanical garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is 1,499 taxonomic units. The pure cultures of oak, hemlock, beech and catalpa, as well as the mixed cultures planted earlier, are still of great scientific and practical value.
