Museum Main Astronomical Observatory of Ukraine

There are two observatories in Kyiv: the university observatory and the observatory of the Academy of Sciences. The main observatory of Ukraine is located on the southern outskirts of Kyiv in the Holosiyivsky forest park and was founded in the summer of 1944. The Observatory of the Academy of Sciences observes stars and satellites, conducts research in the fields of astrophysics and astronomy.

The museum of the observatory was opened in 2004 and offers to get acquainted with the scientific achievements, equipment and history of the observatory. Tours are available Monday through Friday by appointment and include exhibit viewing, telescope demonstrations, and sky viewing. Observations are usually held in the evening if there are at least 5 people.
