Paton Yevhen Oskarovich is an outstanding scientist in the field of welding processes and bridge construction. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, hero of Socialist Labor, honored scientist of the Ukrainian SSR. Founder and first head of the Institute of Electric Welding of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Father of Academician Borys Paton.

Paton Borys Yevhenovich is a Ukrainian scientist in the field of welding processes, metallurgy and metal technology, Doctor of Technical Sciences, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the first awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, director of the Institute of Electric Welding. Author of more than 1,000 publications, including 20 monographs; more than 400 inventions.
