Literal and Memorial Museum of M.V. Gogol
On January 14, 1951, the M.V. Gogol Literary and Memorial Museum was opened in Velyki Sorochyntsy, according to the project of the architect P.P. Chernikhovets. The museum has five halls and 2 sections: "Life path and creativity of the writer" and "M.V. Gogol and modernity". The exposition of the museum shows the life of M. Gogol from childhood to his last days, revealing all sides of the writer's creativity. Museum exhibits bring guests closer to the events of the 19th century and reveal M. Gogol as a writer and a person.
In 2009, the museum premises underwent a major renovation, and an exhibition hall was also completed. The museum exhibition combined sections dedicated to the life and creative path of Mykola Gogol, and exhibits of folk crafts of the Gogol region.
The Literary and Memorial Museum of M.V. Gogol is an invaluable treasure of national culture, which has been visited by thousands of tourists from Ukraine and other countries.
