Museum of the Kosachiv-Dragomanov family
Information
The Museum of the Kosachiv-Dragomanov family is the only museum in the world dedicated to the family in which Lesya Ukrainka was born. The museum was opened in 1999. The exposition is located in seven halls, where exhibits are presented that tell about the life and work of Lesya Ukrainka, her parents, brother Mykhailo Drahomanov and other family members.
The museum also hosts various artistic events, such as concerts, book presentations, and meetings with cultural figures. The museum's holdings include about 2,000 items, including the collection of lifetime publications of Lesya Ukrainka, Mykhailo Drahomanov, Mykhailo Obachny, and Mykhailo Starytskyi.
The purpose of creating the museum is to get acquainted with the spiritual atmosphere of the Kosachiv-Dragomanov family, its worldview, attitude to the homeland, its nature, language and customs. The diverse activities of the Kosachi family museum are aimed at satisfying the aesthetic and spiritual tastes of visitors — residents and guests of the city of Zvyagel.
