Apartment-museum of Ivan Franko's family

Information
The Ivan Franko Family Museum in the apartment of the writer's family opened its doors to visitors on November 25, 2016. The main purpose of this museum is to honor the creative genius of Ivan Franko and his family. The museum is located in the building where the family of descendants of Ivan Franko was forcibly relocated from Lviv by the Soviet authorities in 1950. The entire family of Taras Ivanovich Franko lived in this apartment. Until 2015, Taras' daughter and Roland's sister, Daria-Lyubomyra, lived here and took care of the apartment.
The museum consists of two halls where archival documents and family photos are kept. There is also a memorial room, which partially reproduces the life of Taras Franko's family, the interior of the room, documents and works of Taras, Zinovia, Daria and Roland Franko. The museum is also dedicated to Ivan Franko's children: Taras, Andriy, Anna and Peter. The opening of the museum was initiated by Ivan Franko's grandson Roland, and the event was organized by the Ivan Franko International Foundation. This cultural monument is a great place to study the life and work of a prominent Ukrainian writer and his family.
