Monument to Ivan Franko

Information
The monument to Ivan Franko, an outstanding Ukrainian writer, poet, scientist and thinker, stands in the center of Ivano-Frankivsk on Nezalezhnosti Street. Nearby is the academic regional music and drama theater, which also bears the name of Kamenyar, as well as the square where the monument is standing.
The monumental complex was created by sculptors Lubomyr Yaremchuk and Mykola Posikira. On a granite pedestal is a majestic figure of Ivan Franko, stepping forward.
In the sculpture, the face, chest and hands stand out, symbolizing the poet and philosopher who is deeply immersed in his thoughts. Behind the sculpture are two elements that resemble flashes of fire and create a harmonious landscape of the square. This monument is unique in its design and perception of Ivan Franko as a thinker and philosopher.
