In the 1960s, the head of the strength department of the Institute of Materials Science Problems, G.S. Pysarenko made a proposal to create the Institute of Strength Problems, as the scientific team working there was noted for its high level of achievements.
The main goal of the newly created institute was to conduct research on the strength and properties of various structural elements. In addition, scientists planned to improve the structural properties of materials according to the latest technologies in a wide range of external loads.
At the Institute of Strength Problems, great emphasis was placed on scientific research and the development of advanced technologies. In recognition of the scientific contribution of the outstanding scientist H.S. Pisarenko, his name was assigned to the Institute of Strength Problems.
