Zhytomyr Regional Literature Museum

The Zhytomyr Regional Literary Museum was founded on the initiative of the city's cultural community on December 4, 1990. Since 2001, the museum has been housed in an old two-story building at 45 Kyivska Street.
The exposition of the museum consists of three exhibitions. The first floor is dedicated to the works of Zhytomyr theater artist Ivan Shevchenko. On the second floor, there is an exhibition dedicated to the life, literary and artistic activities of the outstanding poet-translator Boris Ten. The third exhibition tells about the stay in Zhytomyr of the famous Ukrainian composer Mykhailo Skorulskyi, the author of the famous ballet "Forest Song".
The main task of the activity of the Zhytomyr Regional Literary Museum is the scientific enrichment of funds that cover moving monuments of literary and artistic life. Today, the museum has a collection of about 5,000 museum exhibits.
