Institute of Geophysics

The nuclear geophysics group of the Institute of Geophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is engaged in fundamental theoretical and experimental research in geophysics. The main specialization of the group is the development of geophysical well technologies using radioactive logging (RC) for rock research. Instrumental and methodical bases for determining the petrophysical parameters of gas reservoirs and rocks in the zones of aeration and complete water saturation have also been developed.

The institute has created a base for the development of experimental RK devices and laboratory physical models of rock porosity and density. The developed technologies and devices provide determination of the parameters of various types of gas reservoirs, including methane reservoirs of coal-bearing massifs and natural/man-made near-surface rocks.
