From 1754 to 1759, Hryhoriy Skovoroda, a Ukrainian philosopher, poet, teacher and theologian, lived in Kovrai. Hryhoriy Skovoroda was a teacher of Vasyl Tomara, the son of landowner Stepan Tomara. Here he wrote a number of poems in his famous collection "The Garden of Divine Songs", laid the foundations of his philosophical and pedagogical systems.
The museum is located at the premises of the Kovrai educational complex named after H.S. Skovoroda. The exposition is located in four halls, where paintings, letters, old household items, models of buildings and other exhibits related to the life of the outstanding Ukrainian philosopher are presented.
