Museum and Memorial Complex of T.G. Shevchenko

The Museum of Taras Shevchenko in the city of Fort Shevchenko is a unique cultural object dedicated to the difficult period of the great Kobzar's life. He spent many years here, but this time was rich in creativity.

The museum exposition contains copies and reproductions of paintings and drawings created by Shevchenko, as well as rare lifetime editions of his works. In the halls you can also find modern editions in Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakh languages.

The museum-memorial complex is surrounded by a park where the spirit of the poet is present. Here is a dugout where Shevchenko found peace and inspiration, and also a well from which he drew water. In addition, the only monument in the world, designed by Taras Shevchenko himself, is preserved here — it is a sculpture dedicated to Dmytro Uskov.
