KNU — Archaeological Museum
Information
The Archaeological Museum is a scientific unit of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University and was opened in 1987 with the aim of replenishing, researching and preserving the state part of the Museum Fund of Ukraine. The archaeological museum is an integral part of the system of scientific and educational activities of the university.
The museum is located in the main building of the university and has an exhibition space, a restoration laboratory, a library and storage facilities. The museum was created on the basis of scientific and educational museum collections, which come to its funds through archaeological research and expeditions of the university. Students specializing in the Department of Archeology and Museum Studies have the opportunity to explore archaeological sources and participate in their processing and research. The scientific funds of the museum include more than 30,000 storage units.
