Museum of Ethnography and Crafts

This museum is one of the oldest in Ukraine and has a unique collection of artifacts that reflect the traditional culture and folk art of Ukrainians. It was created in 1951 by merging two large museum centers in Lviv — the City Industrial Museum and the Museum of the Scientific Society named after T. Shevchenko.

The museum's collection includes 17 stock collections, which contain more than 83,000 artifacts. The main exhibition is located in the premises of the former Galician Savings Bank and presents the material and spiritual culture of Ukrainians, household tools and folk arts and crafts from the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century.

In addition to permanent exhibitions, the museum also regularly holds temporary exhibitions. The museum's exposition is divided into two departments: ethnographic (with more than 44,000 exhibits) and the arts and crafts department (with more than 28,000 exhibits).
