    Information

At the beginning of the 20th century in Kyiv, at 121 Velyka Vasylkivska Street, there was a house of L.K. Karnaukhova, the sister of the actress. This house became the home of Maria Kostyantynivna Zankovetska, where she spent her last years. In 1960, the first museum of M.K. Zankovetska was created in this building. But in 1980 the cultural monument was needlessly destroyed. Despite this, in 1989 the museum was rebuilt and opened again.

Now the museum of M. Zankovetska contains a large collection of the actress, which was collected since 1923 in the Museum of Theater, Music and Cinema of Ukraine. More than two thousand manuscripts, photographs, programs and posters of performances, costumes and personal belongings of the actress are valuable museum exhibits that can be seen by visitors.

The Museum of M. Zankovetska is located on the second floor of the building and has an area of 300 square meters. The exhibition is divided into two parts: on the left is the memorial apartment, and on the right are two halls that highlight the life and work of the actress in 1854-1917. The apartment consists of an office, a living room, a dining room and a kitchen. The interior of the rooms with furniture and things that belonged to the famous actress was created based on drawings and photographs of the famous artist Yu. Pavlovich, as well as documentary evidence of Maria Zankovetska herself.
