The museum-workshop of the Slobid Cossacks invites everyone to exciting excursions, during which the history of the Kharkiv Slobid Cossack Regiment — the administrative-territorial unit and regimental center of the city — is told.
During 1657-1658, there were about 578 soldiers in the Cossack regiment. In 1671, the Zmiyiv Cossack Regiment joined the regiment, and in 1677, the Balakliya Slobid Cossack Regiment. In the 18th century, Cossack regiments were included in the army structure. Slobid Cossacks were not limited to the specific territory where the regiments were stationed. These were cities, villages, towns, villages and hamlets.
