M. F. Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum

Kharkiv Historical Museum M.F. Sumtsova, is one of the largest museums of Ukraine and a leading cultural center of Slobozhanshchyna and Eastern Ukraine. It is also a regional scientific and methodical museum center. The museum begins its history with the Museum of Slobid Ukraine, founded on January 21, 1920 at the initiative of the famous scientist and public figure, academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences Mykola Fedorovych Sumtsov.

The museum building is located in the historical center of the city. This building, built in 1908 according to the project of the architect Borys Mykolayovych Korneenko, is an interesting architectural landmark and one of the elements of the architectural ensemble of University Street.

Now there are exposition and exhibition halls, a fund storage, a library, an assembly hall, offices for researchers and technical staff.
