Cultural Heritage museum
Information
The year 1999 was marked by the opening of the Museum of Cultural Heritage, which is located in Pechersk in a revived ancient mansion, which was successfully restored by specialists. The exposition of the museum tells about the life paths and creativity of famous personalities of the Ukrainian diaspora, who considered Kyiv not just their Motherland, but also a place where they acquired mastery skills and studied the spiritual heritage of previous generations. Kyivans, born in the capital, grew up and developed their talents in other countries, learning the best achievements of other peoples, but never forgot their roots and always returned to their native city with their works.
Within the museum's seven exhibition halls, you can see unique photos, documents, paintings and personal belongings of prominent Ukrainians who lived abroad. Paintings by Lyudmila Morozova, Vadym Dobrolizh, Oleksa Bulavytskyi, works of art by the Krychevsky family, sculptures by Pyotr Kapshuchenko, Easter eggs by Nina Bulavytska and a collection of folk icons are exhibited here. The museum gives an opportunity to get acquainted with the work of world-famous masters from the United States, who are our compatriots, such as choreographer Vasyl Avramenko, conductor Oleksandr Koshyts, kobzar Hryhoriy Kitasty. In addition, publications of the works of many writers, poets and literary experts returned to Kyiv.
