Mamayeva Sloboda

Information
Less than ten kilometers from the center of Kyiv, next to the historical tract where the source of the Lybid River is located, the unique Arboretum "Mamaeva Sloboda" is located. Here, in the middle of a thick forest, there once stood a monastery apiary with a farm and a pond, and now you can see the Cossack "Sloboda" with a wooden church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God, reminiscent of the one that once stood in Zaporizhska Sich.
Behind the church is a windmill, a symbol of peaceful peasant life in Ukraine. In the manors of the titar, the Cossack-Jur, the Cossack elder, the blacksmith, the potter, the fortune-teller, the apiary and the water mill, located above the ponds with reeds and lilies, you can see authentic things from ancient times. Nearby are buildings of various economic purposes, such as cellars, storerooms, barns, stables, barns and barns. All these objects were created with the aim of reproducing living history and popularizing Ukrainian folk traditions, forgotten labor skills and crafts.
