National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery

The Ukrainian Museum of Pottery was founded on March 11, 1986 in Opishna. The museum quickly developed, becoming a national treasury of pottery art of Ukraine and an important cultural and educational institution.
The main goal of the museum-reserve is the collection, scientific study and popularization of Ukrainian pottery. As part of the museum-reserve, various research centers function, in particular, centers for special methods of ceramics research, information and source studies, the preservation of artistic traditions and the development of spiritual culture. This contributes to the scientific expansion of knowledge about pottery and its influence on Ukrainian culture.
Opishnya, where the museum is located, became a center where a significant scientific team with great intellectual potential in the field of pottery research gathered. Scientists of this team are engaged in the development of 22 scientific topics in archeology, history, ethnography, art and technology of ceramics, and also actively cooperate with leading ceramic museums and organizations in different countries.
