Museum of T.G. Shevchenko's "Kobzar"

Information
Created in honor of the 175th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko, this one-book museum is dedicated to his most famous work, "Kobzar". The museum is located in the memorial building where, from July 18 to July 22, 1859, Taras Hryhorovych lived in the family of merchants Tsybulsky.
The exposition of the museum is structurally divided into several sections, which include lifetime, posthumous and modern editions of the works of T.G. Shevchenko, translations and materials about the poet's stay in Cherkasy. The museum contains more than 6,000 exhibits, which are constantly replenished, especially rare editions of "Kobzars", foreign Shevchenkiana and gifts.
Since the first days, the Ukrainian bookstore "Krynytsia" has been operating in the premises of the museum, which popularizes the best collections of both classical and modern Ukrainian literature. More than 50,000 people visit the museum every year.
