The Botanical Museum of the Institute of Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is one of the best botanical museums in the world and a national treasure of Ukraine. The museum has five large halls that house exhibits on botanical science, the plant world, the cellular structure and system of flowering plants, as well as on plants in human life and nature conservation. The museum exhibits about 4,000 botanical exhibits, photographs, diagrams, drawings, and habitat maps that represent the diversity of the plant world. The exposition of the museum reflects the peculiarities of the structure, distribution, structure and ecology of the plant world, using voluminous phyto-nature exhibits and dioramas.
The museum is engaged in scientific work in the field of regional florilogy, the development of botanical museology, as well as the study and preservation of phytobiota through florosozology and ecotopological florilogy. According to the scientific rationale of the museum, nature reserves, national parks and nature reserves were created to preserve plant diversity.
