Information
The Pharmacy Museum on Podil in Kyiv is an interesting place that combines the functions of a pharmacy and a museum. It was founded back in 1728 by Johann Heiter, a German pharmacist. The pharmacy worked for 111 years, until 1839.
In 1988, the pharmacy was restored and turned into a museum. The museum collection includes more than 50,000 exhibits, including pharmacy utensils, furniture, tools for making medicines, pharmacy packaging, and pharmacopoeias. The museum exposition reproduces a pharmacy of the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum has 12 halls, including "The Witch's House", the alchemist's laboratory and other interesting exhibits.
