Military history museum

The museum exposition consists of two sections and a number of permanent and temporary exhibitions. The exhibition "Military History of Chernihiv Region" was created in 1988 and significantly updated during its existence, supplemented with new exhibits and topics. The section "Combat path of the former 1st Guards Army" was created in 1985, and its complete re-exposition was carried out in 1999.
The museum's funds include more than 11,000 storage units, the vast majority of which are related to the history of the Second World War. In addition, collections of monuments reflecting the events of the First World War, the Ukrainian Revolution, the organization and activities of defense societies, the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, etc. are being created. Among the exhibits are documents, photographs, weapons, awards, military equipment, personal belongings, books, etc.
