Interactive Museum "Room No. 4"

What would happen if you combined an antique shard from Chersonese, family relics of three generations, a collection of airplane models, and rotary phones that work and can be used to talk in one space? The NGO "Historical and Cultural Museum Room Number Four" invites you to see it with your own eyes (and not just see it, but experience it in action!). This is a unique private interactive contact museum, where the main and only rule is: "Touching with hands is allowed!"

The museum has an extremely atmospheric location - it is located within the walls of the legendary old mill of Hermann Niebuhr, a monument of industrial architecture of Zaporizhia. The very name of the project was born historically and symbolically: the exhibition grew up in the fourth room of the famous city time cafe "Kaleidoscope". Today this space is a continuous fascinating hobby of its creators, where each exhibit is warmed with sincere love and care.

The history of this amazing place began not with government directives, but with respect for one’s own roots. The basis of the exposition was the personal belongings of the Zaporizhzhia family of the founder of the museum: grandfather’s embroidered shirt, which he wore in the 1930s, mother’s sewing machine, which she used for over 50 years, father’s favorite books, grandmother’s dress, which she sewed herself, and her plastic basket, with which she once went to the market, etc.

Over time, the family chronicle grew into a real folk museum. Having learned about the unusual initiative, the townspeople began to bring their treasures here: tea sets, elegant figurines, and antique scales. The founder bought some things at auctions and flea markets (such as a rare muggle or rare foam badges), and some became priceless gifts from friends — for example, a collection of 30 airplane models, personally collected from the magazines "Young Technician".

Today, the museum's exposition covers two rooms and a separate art gallery, where, along with the 60s coinage, tapestries and panels, there are modern paintings and even a watercolor by a German artist, which has high expert value.
